We're Back from Our Keys Vacation!!

Oooh, how lovely it was to travel down to Florida to vacation. Sam and I both needed it. We spent the first day in Miami, traveling around the city and hanging out at Miami Beach. Here is a lovely photo taken by yours truly:

Temperature was 90 degrees, and although Sam did slather on the SPF 30, he got massive sunburn that day and couldn't go out in the sun for two days! Dork! Here he is all sunburned:

But we still had a good time in Miami, hung out in South Beach where I so wanted to ask the guys walking around why they were so shiny! They lubed their bodies up with something and were walking around without a shirt on! Here we are on the boardwalk:

And wow, we were able to drive by the famous "Miami Ink" tattoo parlour, the shop that is on A & E's channel.

We headed down to Marathon Key and the next day found me sitting alone as Sam sat in the room nursing his sunburns. I hung out at the pool and made friends with the Tiki Bar bartender Julie. Here's me taking it easy:

And some fancy parrot fish and lobsters we snapped photos of:

Oooh, AND we saw a baby nurse shark!!

Sammy came out a little bit in the evening and was able to give me a kiss:

And enjoy the sunset with me:

Doesn't he look studly here??:

In the meantime, we WERE able to go out at night, and during our late night romps at the bars, I got hungry, like I always do. We ordered some mozarella sticks for 5.99 and got five puny ones. So after complaining to the waitress, she brought us out this weird thing, which supposedly is a grape leave roll, with rice, onions, seasonings wrapped in grape leaves. It was actually pretty good:

The next day, I found myself alone again, hanging out at the Tiki bar. But alas! I had some friends to share my meals with! The locals:

They were happy to eat the food you fed them. How fun!

And look, here's Sammy out of the room!

We also had a chance to feed the crazy tarpan of the south. Here we are, and I'm sure that if we fell in, they wouldn't have eaten us too.

Sunday we had to leave our cozy resort in Marathon Key, and we decided to head up to Key Colony Beach and check into a motel that Julie the bartender suggested. However, after sitting in the room for 1/2 an hour, we decided it was too gross. I was waiting for the roaches to crawl out any minute, and the patio area smelled like nasty garbage sitting in the 90 degree heat:

So we left right away, got our money back, and headed down to Key West where we were able to get a cute little two story bungalow for cheap!!! Our little courtyard even had a mini pool!!

So we strutted our stuff down Duval street, found the Southernmost point of the United States. Aren't we cool hanging out at the Southernmost point of the U.S.??

We got a little intoxicated but don't worry, we weren't driving, and Sammy really isn't stealing this jet ski:

We had a nice last few days, and even though our fishing trip was cancelled because of the wind, we were able to relax by this pool. This is my favorite pic:

With Sam all better, we were able to go snorkelying on our last day, leaving straight from the snorkel boat to drive the 3.5 hour trip back up to Miami to catch our plane!! Oooh, here's Sammy snorkeling:

Isn't he cool??

I was able to get some good pics of some fun fish:

Apparently Sam saw a 7 foot shark swimming ahead of us, but that didn't deter us! What DID deter us, was the amount of yummy salt water we swallowed. MMMmmm, it made our tummies feel so good. Here we are, all sick from salt water and two hours of snorkeling. We are DONE and ready to go. So goodbye!! Thanks for checking up on my blog! For a complete list of photos, send me an e-mail and I can get you the website. Tootles!!
